🗽 New Yorker
Wizard Trees
Wizard Trees is one of my favorite cultivators/brands coming out of the West Coast. Their consistency and quality control have always been top tier, and they’ve also been changing the game with their own breeding and genetic selections.
New Yorker is Riri Sour D x Lemon Cherry Gelato. It was cultivated in New York and is part of Wizard Trees’ first legal NY drop. 🗽
The appeal showed a lot of LCG traits with sour structure kolas well-trimmed nugs with trichomes shining on the close-up. It remind me of the Zours/ Sour Spritzer. The nose had a blend of sweet candy Gelato with that dank Diesel coming through, and those notes translated into the flavor.
The taste intensity had a nice spark at the beginning and carried through about halfway into the sesh. The smoke experience started off smooth, but toward the middle and end, I started getting some roughness and harshness on both the inhale and exhale.
For me, this was definitely different from the Cali version. I was still curious to try it because I’ve also had Wizard Trees from the California recreational market. I tried the New Yorker in the 1g rolls as well and had a similar experience, good start, but not the best finish.
The effects were on point and enjoyable. Overall, the New Yorker had nice appeal, a solid nose, and good effects, but the smoke experience just wasn’t there for me, especially for the ticket.
Respectfully, it felt like smoking “Diet Wizard Trees.” 🤷🏽♂️
I’m looking forward to trying some of the newer, more dialed-in batches. I know NY Wizard Trees can eventually get closer to the level of the Cali work.
