JFK – Buds and Such
JFK been one of them staple cuts I’ve had the pleasure of smoking from a few different legends first from Ivan (aka Da Real Piff ), then NY’s own Epiphany and now from the 2022 NYGC Haze winners ever-solid Buds and Such team. If you know, you know these cultivators been dialed in for decades.
My first intro to their work was judging their Super Lemon Haze, which I rated a 5/5, so I already knew the bar was high. JFK doesn’t have a confirmed lineage, but I swear there’s some Gelato in there, possibly a 41, mixed with some classic Headband or Sour OG influence.
The appeal gives that chunky, rugged OG structure with that Headband/Sour lean. The nose opens up with a sweet, danky, loud aroma, heavy on the sour with a touch of floral Gelato funk. Once you light up, the palate hits with a candy-coated earthiness, layered with diesel, OG fuel, and that signature creamy sweet backend.
The effects are smooth but strong medium-level cerebral with a euphoric twist, settling into a calming, relaxing body high. It held me down for a good 2.5 hours. The smoke experience was buttery clean inhale, smooth exhale, no burn-outs 😮💨.
Overall, JFK from Buds and Such got that elite profile. It checks all the boxes: nose, flavor, appeal, effects, and a top-tier smoke. Easily holds its own among today’s gassy sweet champions. Salute to the Buds and Such team for staying consistent, putting quality first, and always keeping the original essence alive.
