RS54 by Strain God
Upstate NY’s Strain God has been making waves in the cannabis scene, and I recently came across his work on Staten Island’s Zooted Inc menu. This is my first time seeing DeoFarm’s bred Studio 54—the 54th phenotype of the beloved Rainbow Sherbet—grown in NY territory. A sibling to RS11 and RS16 (Zoap), the RS54 holds its own with a unique profile.
Nose & Palate
The nose delivers a clean RS aroma, reminiscent of fresh linen sheets with fruity, dank, and gassy undertones. The palate mirrors the nose perfectly, offering the signature RS flavors of sherbet, guava, and OZK-gassy sweetness, creating a nostalgic and balanced experience.
Effects
The effects are medium-level cerebral and euphoric, coupled with a mild body high. The buzz kicks in after 7-8 pulls with a moderate onset, lasting roughly 2.5 hours. The smoke experience is soothing, featuring a slight bitter inhale and exhale that still satisfies.
Appearance & Breakdown
Visually, the RS54 is impressive, showcasing RS11-style vibrant clementine pistils and sparkling trichomes blanketing medium-sized nugs. While the breakdown felt a touch dry, it maintained freshness when ground.
Overall Experience
Strain God’s rendition of RS54 delivers where it matters most: the appeal, nose, palate, and effects. While the smoke experience could be slightly smoother, it’s clear Strain God is putting out quality flower. This is a strong first impression, and big shoutout to High and Happy and Zooted for introducing me to Strain God’s work.
